July 20 2010 I attended another job's rally in longview it was well attended by  local tradesmen and  women. kelso also has another grain elevator underway with the same problems as the last one.penhaul has completed their work on I-5 and is now in Yakima. I also signed up Freeland industries and they are working on Fort Lewis using 6 finishers off the out of work list. word has it that gencon  and belarde are trying to call there work force back.  King,  gencon, wcci, rainer, salinas, caliber, alpine, Conco, and SAK all working on Fort Lewis. Scarcella  has a couple of jobs one on valley ave. and one in yelm , wcci has one and tyee has the other. SAK has moved in to the Tacoma dome parking lotto start building the LeMay auto museum. we also need any and all members who are out of work to attend the city counsel meeting in Seattle July 26 2010 at 2:00 pm to help push the deep bore tunnel project through its very important for us to get back to work .   see you at the next meeting.

MAY29. 2010  This report is twice in the making due to being bumped off . Ft.Lewis is moving along with two of our contractors on multiple sites. Aberdeen is getting a new tank site right next to the last one J.H. Kelly completed.  The state is also thinking about opening up a second pontoon site, and the first one is getting close to opening.  In Longview I'm still waiting for Hildebrandt  to work on the Weber Rd. extension and in Olympia, we have H.S W and Penhaul

Jan 27,2010  My report from last month has changed  a little but its still not the best.   Building  structures seem to have slowed down with not much in the works , those underway are still being worked on. sidewalk and street improvements continue  but  large  jobs are  in fife ,so. hill ,and Auburn  their still lots of work at Ft.  Lewis . Some of  the  contractors are from out of state, and use our subs  "but others dont" these are the ones im trying to work on                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Dec.15 2009  Well its been thirty days so I  think its time. Not much has changed since last month's report the work we had is still going on. The McMillan water shed was held up due to the freeze but are looking to have Olympic there in the next two weeks or so. The information bldg. in Olympia had  the first pour last week . And  road work continues on the I-5 corridor, and various hwy.s in western Washington. As they say in the NFL 'after further review 'the call has been changed and ACI is doing pipe work for town homes. Not the px and commissary . our curb guys have work but it's wide spread and sparse. Unless i see you in the field 'HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND A GREAT NEW YEAR' see you at January's meeting.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Nov 15 2009   it's been a while since my last report so , here it is... I've been spending a lot of time down south longview, kalama, woodland.  we will have more work coming in the near future with hwy. work .  is not both in longview and a little up north.  anchor has work in Kalama and the port of Longview.  we also signed a new contractor Paleteni concrete  the Michael's distribution center is winding down.   The I-90  Pontoon project will be awarded in Dec. that work will be in grays harbor. Olympia continues to move along with both building structures ,and  street improvement's.  i would like to remind everybody  if you are drawing  unemployment you must put your name on the out work list , and check in every 9 days .  new work seems to be popping up on Fort Lewis A C I started the under ground work for the new PX ,and commissary ther will also be room for fourty retail stores  so thats it for now hope to see you at the next meeting.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     SEPT. 21 2009  I  know this once a week report didn't work well for me so 90 days later here it is. S B Structures continue to work on the I-5 and also the hwy 12 bridge going to Raymond .  in longview  W S Wright is working on an addition to Kaiser hospital ,and  anchor concrete was awarded the pads for the grain elevators .which is three big pours  running 18 hours + each . and if all goes well there will be more on site  work for them and us,  caliber concrete was awarded the street improvements at ocean shores.and  in chehalis gencon and sak & patch are teaming up to work on Michael's warehouse distribution center Ft. Lewis is moving along . and the McMillan reservoir  has kicked off with skarr as the general  and Olympic concrete doing the slab work .a rep. from skarr said this will last one and half years .if you want more I'll  see you  on Oct .  6                                                                                                      Jun26,    2009   It's been quite some time since my last report...so here it is.  JH Kelly has moved along and installed all storage tanks and is now working on two small pads and walls; Steve Dahl said he can keep one finisher working full time and a pour crew every other day for the the next thirty days.   The Salmon Hatchery in Woodland is sill moving and also has one finisher on full time .   SB Structures is working the I-5 and will be there for some time.  Caliber Concrete finally fixed their grade problem with a shovel, are currently paving and hope to have one side done by the end of the month.  In Chahalis,  Lowes Dist. Center is under way with  Gencon.  The Green Hill School is moving.   Aldrich & Assoc. are in talks with Tyee.   Next week is our union meeting and I will have more for you

MAR 20 2009 field report for this month...I have been in the field, meeting with contractors and members of  Local 528.  Fort Lewis is moving along well;  Mortensen has been busy.  Tyee is out there with Larusso, GenCon and Caliber all finishing their own jobs.  Three more lots  are getting cleared and ready for building.  I also went to Aberdeen -  two jobs are under way as I try to type  this report.  There is work out there and our list is getting smaller.  I hope to stay updated on this on a weekly basis.  I also hope to see you at the next meeting in April.

Feb 11,2009       It's been thirty days since I started working.  In that time I've been riding with Jeff to the Building Trades meeting, including Longview,  Pierce and King County.  He has also shown the pros and cons of sub list and card drop offs.  I have done some riding by myself but currently I'm working closely with Eric and hope to have a better report later to come.  As I said in the last meeting Fort Lewis is hopping with lots of work and much more to come, do to the influx of 30,000 troops plus and their families!  Hope to see at the next meeting      JUST A REMINDER NEXT COMET CLASS MAY 16,2009.  See you in the field.

Jan. 8th, 2009    Hello I am Andrew Madrid, I have been recently been hired to represent my fellow brothers and sisters of Local 528.  I am new to this position and hope to serve everyone in a satisfactory manner.  I started Monday Jan. 5th, and I am currently being trained and attending building trades meetings throughout Western Washington and meeting the other trades reps whom I will be working with.  I look forward to meeting  you in the field.

Andrew Madrid
