LAKE CITY- Ferguson signed a one job agreement on a water shed facility and they have worked well with us allowing us to do everything inside our scope of work including clean up and formwork so a couple of our guys can work steady when they are not pouring.
U-DISTRICT- At least 9 new big jobs are just starting in this area, some contractors are HSW, Sellen, Lease Crutcher and Hoffman.
KENMORE- Harmatta is building a fire station and self performing all slabs and paving with our hall. They are very happy with the quality they get from our hall.
BOTHEL- Kiewit/ Hoffman still have about 14 masons at Brightwater and it has been a good opportunity to get to know the subs and claim our work.
LAKE STEVENS- Balfour Beatty has a sewer plant and doing all concrete work in house using our finishers. Our masons help out there where ever they can, including the safety where they help maintain handrails and work on other safety aspects. The superintendent is proud of how professional our masons are and glad when I visit. ///////// Thomco has roadwork on 20th street, they are using Wilson to finish curbs and sidewalk.
MONROE-Quite a few schools coming up, probably waiting for summer break.
MACHIAS-Graham is using S.A.K. to finish floors at the new middle school.
MARYSVILLE-Berschauer Phillips is building a huge facility on the navy base. S.A.K. got the whole concrete package including patch, they are putting out some real nice slabs.
EVERETT-Mortenson used King to finish slabs at Providence hospital. They still have not hired one in house finisher but I have not found any of our work done by another trade yet.
STANWOOD- Parsons/Kuney-The Camano Island bridge just poured their first bridge deck with Northwest Barrier and John Wayne will do sidewalks.
BURLINGTON- I.C.I is building a new park and ride at the Chuckanut exit and they will use a union sub to finish all sidewalks.
BELLINGHAM- There are a lot of small buildings underway mostly non-union but hopefully, with the help of our market recovery Salinas, King and other subs will continue to land jobs in that area.
It seems like there is work out there if you want it. As our contractors are struggling to land work we can help by taking part and doing everything we can to help them succeed and keep landing jobs for us. Sometimes it is the details that really help out like, not making a mess and cleaning up edges, take extra effort to put out a quality product and help the other trades when you can so other people talk well about us. I have been getting great reports from the superintendents so it is obvious to me that our finisher are doing their jobs.So keep up the good work brothers and sister we will get through this recession.
